The Global Beauty & Wellness Awards announces
Best Cosmetics and Wellness Hotels in the World 2021
The Jury of The Global Beauty & Wellness Awards has this year honoured 67 winners and 116 finalists from across the beauty and wellness industries.
The winners and finalists were selected out of 475 entries coming from all over the world, reflecting the evolution and innovation of the beauty and wellness industries.
This year’s nominees in the beauty and cosmetic categories were judged on ingredients, sustainability, efficiency, innovation and packaging.
The highest number of cosmetics nominations came from Biossance, Babington Soap Co, and Austrian brand Dr Tonar Cosmetics. Big brands such as Drunk Elephant, Maybelline, and bareMinerals, were awarded as winners, as well as emerging brands as Risewell, annané or Rustik MAKA.
This year, wellness hotels from all over the world participated in the competition. The results were 9 winners and 26 finalists, from luxury resorts to ecological spas.
Nominees in the Wellness Hotels category were judged on their general service offers, presentation, innovation, and media and visitor feedback.
Cosmetics Industry Winners
In the cosmetics industry, Biossance gained recognition from the jury members, awarded as ‘Best Sustainable Company’. The skincare brand won as well the Best Sunscreen and Most Innovative Eye Product categories. According to the chemical engineer and GBWA Jury Member Ivana Pur, the brand’s winning products are highly effective, and there are no unnecessary ingredients or fillers in them.
Drunk Elephant T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial became one of the Jury Members’ favourites. According to the GBWA Jury, the product features a unique formula, combining powerful exfoliation with nourishing, moisturizing & soothing ingredients. This made them a true winner of the Best Ingredient Facial Product Award.
Emerging brand Rustik Maka was one of the winners in the cosmetics categories. The woman-owned personal care company founded in 2014 by two immigrant sisters from Poland offers 14 different scents of natural deodorants in three different formulas along with a full line of underarm detox and body care products. The brand was awarded as the Most Innovative Emerging Cosmetics Company, and two of its products became finalists for the Best Natural & Organic Hygiene Product category.
Lavylites, for the second year, received two special awards, this year for the Most Innovative Eye Cream for Tired Skin, and the Most Innovative Skincare Product for Stretch Marks. Also,
a third Lavylites’ product became finalist for the ‘Most Innovative Oral Product’ category. According to Jury members, their innovative, super-premium cosmetics contain good-for-skin ingredients that provide effective results.
Wellness Hotel Winners
On the hotels’ side, Canyon Ranch was the overall winner for the Best Wellness Hotel category. This desert, all-inclusive resort offers a unique health and wellness concept that includes top-notch fitness activities, nutritious food, spa treatments, and consultations ranging from shamans to cardiologists.
Golden Door was the winner for the Most Innovative Wellness Hotel category. The luxury spa retreat helps guests to focus on inner reflection and self-discovery through mindfulness, healthy eating, spa treatments, fitness, and meditation. According to guests, what truly differentiates the Golden Door is the very high level of specialized and tailored service from a team of high-quality individuals who genuinely care about giving their guests a time to remember.
The Global Beauty and Wellness Awards (GBWA) is a fully independent organization that recognizes outstanding achievements in brand innovation and sustainability across the cosmetics, personal care, wellness and hotel industries – sectors that offer a major contribution to global wellbeing.
