Korean Beauty Rituals to Improve Your Skincare Routine

The influence and popularity of Korean cosmetic brands in western countries have made many people adopt the 8 and 10-step Korean skincare routines. These regimes are considered by Korean women as a lifestyle and, according to experts, they are a great way to maintain healthy and beautiful skin, keeping it clean and fed with good ingredients.

The 8 and 10-step Korean skincare routines are not about having more products, but rather about having the right ones and using them in the proper order.

The Korean morning routine

Step 1: Wash your face with water to remove impurities and hydrate the skin.

Step 2: Use a toner to balance the skin’s pH levels and avoid dehydration.

Step 3: Apply essence to hydrate and aid cellular turnover.

Step 4: Use an ampoule with active ingredients to target specific skincare concerns.

Step 5: Add a serum with a concentrated formula to help avoid wrinkles, dark spots, or dehydration.

Step 6: Use an eye cream to hydrate the thin skin that surrounds the eye and protect it throughout the day.

Step 7: Adding moisturizer is a very important step that must be followed by applying a light layer of the hydrating product that best matches your skin type.

Step 8: Finally, apply sunscreen to protect your skin from UV rays and avoid dark spots, wrinkles, and lines.

The Korean nighttime routine

Step 1: Use an oil-based cleanser to remove makeup and impurities.

Step 2: Apply a water-based cleanser to reduce the oil residue and water-based impurities.

Step 3: Only twice a week, exfoliate your skin to remove dead cells and unblock your pores.

Step 4: Apply a toner to balance the skin’s pH levels.

Step 5: Use essence to hydrate the complexion.

Step 6: Applying a concentrated ampoule at night will make it easier for your skin to absorb all the ingredients and properties needed after a long day.

Step 7: A serum should be applied to those specific areas of concern, depending on each person’s needs.

Step 8: Use a sheet mask to hydrate your skin and feed it with active ingredients.

Step 9: Retire the sheet mask and add an eye cream to protect the delicate eye area.

Step 10: Lastly, add a nighttime moisturizer to lock all the previous ingredients in and keep your skin smooth.

It is important to note that, although these rituals have had good results in Korean beauty, every skin is different, so we recommend consulting your dermatologist before trying them out.
